Summer 2021 Party – Thank You!

Summer 2021 Party – Thank You!

It truly takes a village! Thank you to all in our very special community who helped make the SPB July 16th event our best one yet. With over 250 SPB supporters in attendance and $107,000 raised, all cherished meeting new neighbors and connecting with old friends while enjoying delicious food and beverages.

The weather, the sounds of The Grab Brothers Band, coupled with the beautiful Cabana Club venue made for a perfect night. We’d love to have any photos you would like to share. Please email them to:

Message fromAudubon

Save Popponesset Bay would like to share a letter with you that we received from Mass Audubon.

Mass Audubon is one of the organizations SPB partners with to ensure that our beloved Spit remains the wonderful place that it is for generations to come.

“Thank you for partnering with us in 2021 to protect the nesting shorebirds on Popponesset Spit. Coastal birds face many challenges along our busy coastline as they lay their eggs on the sand and raise their young amidst the beach-going public. Their success depends on all of us and it would not be possible for Mass Audubon’s shorebird monitors to do the work they do without partnerships.

Thank you very much for your support of our efforts; you have helped us be successful in conserving coastal birds through your partnership. The participation and support of local communities in coastal bird conservation is essential and your role in this effort is very appreciated. We have attached the field summaries for Popponesset Spit here; please let us know if you have any questions or would like more information about shorebirds on Popponesset Spit.

We look forward to working together again next spring!”
